Radiant Transformation: Introducing The Skincare Tips That Cleared My Skin

By: Salma Belgou

When I started high school, I began to struggle with acne. I didn’t really focus on my skin then. But, after my first year of high school, I wanted to start taking better care of my skin. Though, it was hard for me to find the right products. I remember constantly trying different products, which made my skin worse! Back then I made a goal for myself, I wanted to have clear and healthy skin. I took action in this goal instantly, and effectively achieved it with patience.

Today, I will be sharing some tips that helped me clear my skin. Even though my skin is clear, doesn’t mean it is not prone to acne. I still have breakouts occasionally and that’s normal. It’s important to remember that. This skincare journey is a long but rewarding one.

Clear skin isn’t just about pride – we should feel comfortable, confident, and feel at peace with ourselves. When we are taking these steps, we are providing attention and care for our skin. So, whether you’re here looking for results for acne, tips for reducing pores, or just interested in improving your skincare routine, you’ve come to the right place. Let’s begin!

1: Washing Your Face and Hands

The first and most important one is washing your face and hands before applying any product. I know I’ve previously stated this in another blog and that is because it is so important. Our hands and faces contain many germs, bacteria and dead skin cells. Therefore, washing your hands and face every morning and evening before applying your skincare routine, can remove all impurities and keeps both clean.

2: Drinking Enough Water

The second is drinking enough water. The reason why I say enough and not a lot is because, drinking too little or too much isn’t good for our overall health. There are mixed thoughts about this one but for me it has definitely helped. I drink two to three liters of water a day. This has improved my skin – keeping it hydrated, moisturized and reduced pores.

3: Get an Adequate Amount of Sleep

The third is to get an adequate amount of sleep. This one has always been a hard one for me, since I am a student, but I try to get seven to eight hours of sleep. When I get enough sleep, I always wake up with glowy, plumped, and hydrated skin! So, getting enough sleep prevents you from breakouts and eye bags, which can occur more often if you don’t get enough sleep. You’re also put in a better mood when you sleep well. You’ll be happy and have clear skin.

4: Not Touching Your Face

The fourth one is not touching your face. I know how tempting it can be to pick or pop your pimples but it’s just NOT worth it. It can cause scars and infections – revealing your skin to more germs. So, it’s crucial to avoid those temptations.

5: Taking Time To Yourself

The fifth one is taking time to yourself. There's a huge correlation between stress and acne. The best way to reduce stress and the acne that comes with it is by doing activities you like. These activities include exercising, yoga, meditating, writing, and more. I’ve tried many of these activities and oh my, I felt so at ease and less stressed which ultimately reduced my acne.

6: Wearing Sunscreen Every Day

The last one is wearing sunscreen every single day. This one is so incredibly significant. You should wear it on sunny days, cloudy days, winter days, and even… when you’re at home. Once I started wearing sunscreen every day, I really saw incredible results, my skin became clearer. It reduced my blemishes, redness and my acne. Not only that, but it deeply moisturized my skin.

When it comes to clear skin, it’s crucial to draw awareness to what you put onto your face and what you do not put on your face. These can be makeup/skincare products, germs from your hands, etc. Doing so will assist you in figuring out what is good for your skin and what isn’t. Furthermore, concentrating on specific lifestyle components can make quite a transformation in your skin. Yet to achieve clear skin, it’s necessary to stay patient and positive. It takes time, and that’s okay because it’s part of the skincare journey. I hope these tips helped you in some way. If you’ve tried any of these tips let me know – how did they work for you and were they beneficial? The next blog is a very exciting one! I will be talking about ways to hydrate dry skin and hair, even including products that helped too – “Hydration Retreat: Healthy Routines for Dry Skin and Hair in Your 20’s.” Can’t wait to see you in my next blog!
